Nicholas John Roerig

Born in Colchester, England, Nick started taking piano lessons with Roy Cloughton when he was 7. He continued with advanced musical studies while at Colchester Royal Grammar School, studying privately with Allan Granville, Head of Piano at Colchester Institute.

When aged 15, he won his first of many performance prizes, and a year later, he obtained a distinction award in the highest Royal Schools of Music performance Diploma. Nick was then awarded a place at the Royal College of Music, London.

At the Royal College of Music, Nick studied with Ruth Gerald – Head of Piano Studies – and as a mature student, he studied with Robert Bell, a London-based concert pianist.

In the year that he obtained a First Class Degree in Recital Performance, Nick also won first prize in the A. Cyril Moles piano competition.

In addition to maintaining a recital schedule, Nick also developed a successful business career, eventually running a Division of a United Kingdom “FTSE 250” Public Company. This enabled him to relocate to Florida in order to pursue more fully his love of music performance and teaching.

Since moving to America, Nick has been elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in both London and in New York (Fellowship number 6008273) and he is Nationally and State certified in piano by the Music Teachers National Association of America (Member 9063188). Nick has been a lunch-time recitalist in the Hospice House at Florida Hospital, Flagler Beach, and he has played in the Palm Coast United Methodist Church and at the Hammock Dunes Country Club. Nick has also performed in Port St Lucie, and in Jacksonville – on behalf of the Jacksonville Music Teacher’s Association. In addition to teaching piano and music theory privately, Nick has taught classes in Classical Music Appreciation for the Flagler County School District adult education programs.

Nick is a dual national, and holds both United Kingdom and American citizenship.

Nick also plays uplifting classical music at a variety of family, social and business occasions, such as weddings & wedding receptions, gala dinners & dinner parties, luncheons, cocktail hours, business functions, award ceremonies and at fund raising and artistic events.
